Welcome to the new season. We continue, with volunteer coaches and helpers, to accommodate approximately 230 children from ages 5 to 16 at our coaching sessions throughout the week. Below are some of our highlights from 2024 and key things to think about for the year ahead.
Winter Training
As the evening light starts to disappear, we will be moving training to the winter facilities at Peebles High School or the Gytes Leisure Centre. This will take place after the half-term holiday starting Monday 21st October, for details of your age groups winter training schedule please contact your lead coach.
Fundraising
2024 has been another busy year for fundraising, across the race night, Euro predictor sheets and festival we have raised over £5,000. This will go towards new equipment purchases, maintenance of existing equipment and to ensure we have enough funds to cover the increased winter training costs that come with using the 3G pitch at the high school.
We will be looking for support for the 2025 fundraising activities so please get in touch if this is something you’d be interested in.
Membership Platform
Thanks for everyone’s support as we moved to My Club Hub over the summer. We are using this new platform to manage the club from member subscription to fixture attendance, plus a new webpage (www.peeblesfc.co.uk). This platform takes some of the workload away from the volunteers who can now focus more on coaching and less on administration. As everyone becomes familiar with the system then we’ll start using more of its functions.
Coaching / Volunteering
Everything we do as a club is driven by the dedicated team of hard-working volunteers. As each new year group starts, we are always looking for new people to get involved, we can’t do anything at the club without volunteers so if you are interested in helping at the club, then please let us know via headcoachpeebles@gmail.com. We don’t just need coaches and helpers for the training sessions and matchdays – there are lots of ways you could help. Additional information is always available on our Facebook page or www.peeblesfc.co.uk
Finally, I would like to thank all the coaches, volunteers, and children for your hard work and we wish the best of luck to all our teams for the coming season.
